The body as a factory ....

The daily consumption of plant products in sufficient quantity and in a well-balanced diet, helps prevent serious illnesses such as heart disease, cardiovascular accidents, diabetes and cancer, as well as deficiencies of important micronutrients and vitamins.
Vitamins, minerals and other components of fruits and vegetables are essential to human health. For example, dietary fiber contributes to transit through the digestive system and lower cholesterol levels in the blood, vitamins and minerals help maintain an adequate state of health and an acceptable degree of welfare and photochemical like compounds give the tomatoes and carrots their bright colors, have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. In addition, these products promote proper digestion of other nutrients, increased intestinal volume, which helps regulate appetite and tend to involve greater food safety, both fresh as preparared. Good to know that fruits and vegetables, along with cereals and legumes, are a group of foods much more stable than those of animal origin. Often kept in conditions of raw best, does not require large amounts of salt and are rich in antioxidants. Consequently, they may even help reduce the number of cases of foodborne diseases.

Imagine us that our body is like a factory and nutrients are the cloth, thread, buttons, linings etc. If any of these elements is missing it´s enough to make production stop. If only thread misses, even if there´s the other materials the dresses will not be completed.
